Welcome to GIOME’s homepage. GIOME is a non-profit organisation and a completely new concept in gastroenterology based on the human Physiome project.

The purpose of the GIOME project is to facilitate integrative modeling of physiological and pathophysiological processes in the gastrointestinal tract and sharing of data, ideas and designs generated by gastroenterologists worldwide. The vision and end goal is to improve life for patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
Media Lab
Media lab is a new concept for sharing research and for making yourself more visible in the scientific world. You are welcome to upload figures and material to this site. The material will be free to use for others provided they acknowledge the donor of the material and GIOME.com. No user is allowed to give away the copyrights to any third party.

Invited Paper
Four times per year GIOME will invite a scientist to publish a review paper. The papers can be downloaded as PDF files. GIOME does not claim copyrights. However, if you wish to reproduce parts of the paper, you are obligated to reference the paper (author name, title of paper, GIOME Online + year,volume and page numbers).

Accreditation
With the increasing competition between laboratories and hospitals worldwide for patients, it has become very important to have a high accreditation score. Patients and governments are likely to select the laboratories and hospitals with the highest score.
GIOME Online Journal GIOME invites you to submit original research papers to GIOME Online. Papers on all aspects of the gastrointestinal tract will be published but papers based on bioengineering approaches such as biomechanics and bioinformatics and with integration of experiments and models will have a preference.
